Canberra International Airport

The announcement that Canberra will be linked to Singapore and New Zealand with direct regular international flights for the first time ever, is a major coup for Canberra.

Appealing to leisure, government and corporate travellers, the new ‘Capital Express’ route will provide the nation’s capital with two direct international destinations operating Canberra-Singapore and Canberra-Wellington, commencing September this year.

‘Going international’ is not only a benefit for the people of Canberra but for the entire region. From as far north as Wollongong to as far south as Albury, people will be able to enjoy the convenience of international flights right here in Canberra without the need to go through Sydney.

Following this, we also expect to see businesses and their employees move from Sydney to Canberra to take advantage of cheaper housing and living expenses, but still having access to an international airport for all their corporate requirements. This will have a significant effect not only on Canberra’s land values, Schools and University options, but also employment and investment opportunities abroad. We are excited to see Canberra become the world class destination that it deserves to be.
