David joined Tiffen & Co in 2009 after enjoying a career break and a few years away from the finance industry. He brings over 9 years experience in mortgage broking, out of a total 18 years in banking and finance, coupled with a dedication to helping people make informed choices and removing stress out of the home loan process.
"What I enjoy best about broking is simply helping people to make the best choice they can. Not only to find the best price on a home loan – but also making sure they are setup in the appropriate type of loan for what they want to do and also considering the intangibles like after sales care and service from the bank or lender– which is often overlooked. Usually, a mortgage is something you have for many years, so you need to look further than just the customers experience during the approval and settlement stages".
The process of buying property and getting finance can be quite daunting for many people. David's priority is to make sure his clients know what's going on at all times – communication is one of his strengths. Other than delivering a professional service, David also likes to see his clients have some fun during the process – "It's really important to be able to smile and have a laugh".
Outside of work David enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda – their favourite hobby is dining at fine restaurants for the degustation menu. He stays young (and very busy) by being a dad to three sons and a baby girl. When he gets the time he engages in a broad range of interests including playing guitar, video gaming, keeping fit, and cooking – especially dessert!
