Alison Whittle
Alison was born and raised in Canberra and has been involved in the financial services sector for 30 years. The past 15 years have been dedicated to the mortgage broking industry as owner of The Mortgage Detective and more recently as director and shareholder of Tiffen and Co. In October 2008 The Mortgage Detective merged with Tiffen and Co. forming Canberra's most dynamic and professional mortgage broking company.
"Early in my career, I worked for financial institutions that only marketed their own lending products. It soon became apparent that customers were not being provided with a fully informed choice when obtaining finance. Our job as mortgage brokers is to understand our client's needs and circumstances and help them choose the right finance package".
Alison has represented mortgage brokers in the ACT region for the past 7 years on the industry's peak professional body – the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA). In 2009/2010 she was president of the association's ACT/ NSW Council and represented these states on the national board.
